AMERICAN THE BEAUTIFUL
Dragonfly artist will showcase their interpretation of the poem and song “America
the Beautiful”    Opening reception to meet these talented artists will be on July 11th
from 5:00 to 7:00.
JULY 19TH and 21st
WEAVING ON A TRIANGLE LOME   
Jan Dempsey and Sandi Lang will teach weaving on a triangular loom.  Cost will be
$57.00, which includes the materials to build the loom.  Students should provide the
necessary yarn
JULY 14TH – 18TH
MIDDLE SCHOOL SUMMER ART CAMP
Julie Bragg will teach Basic Pencil Techniques for middle school students.  Students
entering 5th, 6th or 7th grades will attend from 9:00-12:00.  Student entering 8th
grade will attend from 1:00-4:00.  Cost will be $80.00 per student.
JULY 12TH
FISH DIVAS – FIBER ART WORKSHOP
Darlene Samuel will teach 2 classes fun funky fantastic fiber art        
workshop.   Fish felting from 10-12 and advanced fish felting from 1-3.  These
classes will provide the student with skills to needle felt a simple fish.  You may take
one or both classes for 25.00 each.

Middle School Art Show
Middle School students from Santa Rosa County Public School System will display
their art in the Gallery showcase room.  A reception will be held on May 22nd from
4:00 to 6:00 to meet these talented students.
May 4th and 10th   
Tile Stepping stone and Candle Holder Workshop
March Schmitt will offer a class in mosaic from 1:00-4:00.   A tile stepping stone and
candle holder will be constructed during the class.  Cost of $45.00 includes all
materials needed.  Class size is limited and $20.00 will reserve your place.
May 3rd
Needle Felting Workshop
Lorraine Cathey will teach Needle Felting from 10:00-3:00.  Cost will be $40.00 with
a $15.00 supply fee pained to the instructor.  (Brown bag lunch or order out.)
Deadline for registration is April 28th.  Class is limited to 10 students.

Dragonfly Gallery features “Outside the Lines”
The Art Education from Santa Rosa County display their annual art show. This year’s
show “Outside the Lines” will hang in the showcase room.  A reception for these
talented teachers will be May 2nd from 6-8.

Collage Class  
Donna Freakmann will teach a Collage workshop from 9:30-12:30.
Cost will be $30.00.  
April 12th            
Gallery in the Garden
Dragonfly artists will be demonstrating, exhibiting and selling their creations in the
garden from 8:00 till 4:00.  The event will include unique items to decorate your home
both, indoors and outdoors.

Grant Workshop to explain the grant application process to the public at Dragonfly

3-D Wet Felting Class
Sandi Lang will teach a wet felting workshop from 8:30-12:00.
For beginners and knowledgeable fiber artists, students will create a useable drink
cozy.  Cost will be $35.00

Featured Artists' Reception & Demonstrations
A reception byFiber Artists will be on April 5th from 1-4.  Demonstration of various
mediums will be conducted during the reception.
  • Darlene Fay Samuel, former president of the Emerald Coast Bead Society
    and many time award winner in free form bead work.  Darlene paints with
    beads by creating substantial beaded “collars” using jewel and earth tones
    with influences of the Celtic and Egyptian.  Free form beading will be her
    demonstration.  Darlene’s intricate bead weaving is nothing like the simple
    bead stringing of most hobbyist.
  • Lorraine Cathey, former SRACF president and award winning artist is
    known throughout the south for her expressive felted bears and other
    realistic needle felting sculptures.  Formally trained at John C. Campbell Folk
    School in Brasstown, NC and Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair (SAFF) in
    Fletcher, NC, Lorraine will be demonstrating needle felting.  A must see to
    enjoy.
  • Sandy Lang, an artist of multi-talent and media creates with polymer clay,
    gourds and fiber.  For this feature, Sandy will be demonstrating wet felting
    which is one of the oldest forms of art working with wool.

Exhibit of contemporary and Traditional fiber art will be on display in the showcase
room.

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop Elements
A basic course of instruction using Adobe Photoshop will be taught by Sally Wales
from 9:30 – 12:30. Cost will be $40.00. Contact Sally at 623-9382 for details.

Showcase room will feature creations from the many classes offered at the
Dragonfly by the SRACF. A wide variety of art including weaving, photography,
watercolors, collage, and needle felting will be on display.

The top ten winners of the High School Senior Art Contest in Santa Rosa County
School System will display their art in the showcase room.

Kiln Walk Society Exhibit
Pottery created by the member of the Kiln Walk Society will be featured in the
showcase room. This exhibit is in conjunction with the firing of the Anagama Kiln in
Holley, Florida. The Society is dedicated to the development and education of wood
fired pottery.
